The Quest for Eric: Looking for the missing Facebook guy

I agree with @Gmandam, tell him we understand if he doesnt want to do it/ doesnt have time, whatever, but hand it over, and do it quickly, remind him of our goal, and that if we want this to work we need that group!

Well I'm glad you found him, here's hoping that everything is all right. If he is no longer able to manage the facebook site we will be sad to see him go, he really made the site what it is, and it sucks to lose him. At the same time I understand that this quest for a new ending we're all on is now going on months, and not everyone has the time or the energy to keep up with this.

I would just like to thank him for all the work he did and the people he brought together.

At one point somebody who claimed to be from this site went to the FB site and started harassing them, saying they might as well announce the group is finished and that we lost already because they aren't doing anything. The name was... let me see... Barati Ferenc.

My message to Eric

Hi Eric. My name is Michael Zack. I'm an active member of the the retake facebook group you started a few months back. I spent awhile trying to find you because there are so many on there who want to see the page become active again. Many people on there, including me, are trying to keep the page alive. We are trying Eric. But we can't do it without having active administrators. I know you are very busy right now. But many on the page felt this was important enough to help me find you. If you are just too busy to continue maintaining the page, please look at the people who helped support the page and appoint them administrators. Please consider me. Or if not me, then someone who is willing to do the work that is needed. Thank you for all your hard work on the movement Eric. We all only wish you the best and hope to keep it going until we get the ending we deserve. Keelah se'lai.

Finally Eric came back to FB... And? Sth happened? Any response? Anything new? Good or even bad?

He recently moved out of his parents place and into a place of his own (learned from his father). He never got back in touch with me, but that is his M-O. He's alive, well, and healthy.

Good thing he came back too, since I was going to get in touch with him today if he didn't....in the most annoying way I know how......

Silly question but why dont we just make new facebook page and send members link to new address and reeasons why ?

Ahh so a member on the old and new page cant send a mass Msg to all then ? . That sucks ah well on with the search . Maybe we will find eric on a planet which is ageing super speed once rescued have to find a way to give him back his soul , which has been placed into @Justin Simpsonfor safe keeping .

I did a survey asking people about that, since several have approached me with that suggestion. The people that responded felt it would end up dividing the page in a very, very bad way.

So here is a question. What is worse? An FB page with no one at the helm? Or a new one with maybe less people? If that Eric guy is not doing anything with it, like updates and what not, then isn't it a dead page? I don't use FB so I don't really know. Seems to me a dead page is not much use to anyone. Unless you want to point at it and say "Look how many there were months ago!" Maybe I got it all wrong. Maybe someone should straighten out this bag of snakes and make some sense of it for those who don't get it. I'm not trying put you down Michael. I just want to know if anything has been accomplished. Besides contacting his dad. If nothing comes of all your hard work, then what are you going to do about it. The way I see it, some is better than none. Don't let the negative people sway you or keep you from doing something positive.


Holding The Line

I haven't let the negative people sway me. I'm running a campaign solely off of the retake board very, very successfully so far. All that matters is finding people who are motivated enough to keep the page going, and there are more than enough people to do that. I would rather have 20 dedicated retakers than 66,288 people who only sit there and act like they are involved...but in reality watch other people do the work.

And I have that right now.

Plus, you didn't put down my hard work at all Ebb. I have stories of the attacks I received on that page from the campaigns I've run there. Your concerns are valid and worth considering! I just have different goals right now, I guess. But I always encourage people who want to take that extra step and create their own page to do so.

Also, if anyone is looking for an active facebook page, HTL has one. The administration there updates it every few days and they are very responsive.
