The Quest for Eric: Looking for the missing Facebook guy

I've only been looking for a half day so far. There's a chance that I may be able to get in touch with him tonight. Only a chance. Can't explain more than that, but I am hoping that I earned enough trust on this site for you guys to know that when I say something, I tend to mean it.

I'm still looking for more leads right now. If anyone else has ideas, please share

Both pages have resources and people willing to do work. That's all that matters to me.

Actually, you're one of the people I'd like to see as an admin on that page, thought it for a while, and whilst I don't like the idea of anybody doing it alone (Eric's shown us exactly how that can end up), I think you're honest enough to do it with others, maybe with others from around the world, I love the way it is here where there are always admins online!

So all in all, good luck, I hope this works, and if there is anything I can do let me know.. I'll start scanning the BSN forums and see if I can come up with anything useful.

Alright, he also set up a Google+ page. (I don't know if this can be viewed unless you're logged into google https://plus.google.com/u/0/?tab=XX#106177017446052591412/posts) EDIT: Google forces you to login before allowing pages to be viewed.

I've sent a message there asking to be an admin of that page (5 minutes ago), though it probably links back to the retakemasseffect@gmail.com address. That page hasn't been updated since 21 March so has probably been abandoned.

There was also a YouTube channel (probably the same gmail account) and Twitter that all appear to be linked.

I'm a big believer in Occam's Razor. It helps curtail negativity. The chances of a payoff situation with Eric are nil. The risk doesn't outweigh the prize. (Err... the priiiiiiiiiiiize.) The blow-up that would happen if Eric documented the payoff and went public would be catastrophic. Right now, I think this all still boils down to bad press and EA/BioWare can handle bad press pretty easily once things die down. Lord knows the gaming press already act like over-excited teenagers whenever EA bats their eyelashes at them. I'd rather speculate only after the obvious has been ruled out.

From what little Eric has let slip about himself, he's apparently in college and this is the time for finals. Plus he's had the admins who were hurt in a car accident and the other ones who were unhelpful or just lazy. His mistake was not realizing the qualifications of the people here and coordinating with us, either because he didn't know or wasn't told. Between Volion bankrolling this site and kihten's previous experience organizing protests, this was always the best option for actually getting something done. The most reasonable explanation is Eric is swamped with work and/or life and is probably tired of dealing with all the fuss. Hopefully Micheal can get in touch and get something helpful out of him. It'd be a huge shame leaving a 65,000+ member Facebook page to die on the vine.

Maybe not though, I just saw the bit on that post that says it was "taken from the facebook about page". Ah well, just have to wait and see.

After some searching, it seems like most of the things he signed up to (youtube etc) were signed up to using the retake gmail, I've never had an answer from there, after sending 4 emails, but I've sent another anyway... will do more when I finish work, but thought I'd update you..

Just wondering though, some people said he's a student coming up to finals? where was this? I thought he was in work, dont know many students near finals that work away from home for over a week? (not slamming or anythig else, just confused, knowing what were looking for might help a little)

There is a lot of speculation on who he is. I've heard rumors ranging from him being a secret agent for EA all the way through him dying out in Southeast Asia. That's all we have on him. Speculation. Eric's a private person. He never revealed his last name publicly. That alone should tell us how little we know about him. I'm one to respect his privacy.

any word on the other Admins? while I am some what sceptical about their existance if they do exist we might be able to find one of them, who in turn might be able to contact Eric?

Apparently there is a new post on the FB page. Not sure if you got in contact with him or not, but he pretty much explains his absence/admins. I'll quote him here:
