The Escapist's Critical Miss comics about Retake

Oh wow how adult. Pathetic. "Whiney babies, whiney babies cry away home wahwahwah." There's a proper analogy. Sounds like something my brother used to say when we were 6. I hope making this made them feel better at least. We must really bug them. Yay.

The first one I can accept. They're parodying the movement and it doesn't seem overly malicious.

The second comic is pretty peculiar though. There isn't a humorous slant to it and instead it's just an attack on a group of Mass Effect fans. The entitlement argument has really fatigued as well; the word is just a place-holder for folks not interested in the idea of a new ending to lampoon fans who would like to see a change.

Not surprised. These comics definitely fall in line with their typical level of maturity and 'humor.' I do sort of wonder what Retake did to them that's made them so blatantly butthurt about the whole thing though; they haven't even tried to disguise the bitterness and hostility in the last one.

Oh, I had put up a few other of the Critical Miss comics, finding them at first amusing, then somewhat irritating.

Curiously, right after the author promised that he wouldn't make any more of those annoying "Mass Effect Themed" entries, I first posted them here. Of course, by coincidence or not, the "no more ME3 entries" suddenly turned into "here's a few more" -- MAYBE it wasn't related to the amount of people from HTL who rushed to go see it. Maybe it was. We are many, and clicks are a sweet sweet lure.

Its just the media baiting us again, they're much bigger trolls than what they've tried to portray us as. I was waiting for the second comic to have some sign that it was sarcasm, but no, its just a blunt and pathetic attempt to incite us. There's also the realisation that they cant review horrible games with 10/10 in the future anymore without facing consequence, so that has to cause serious butthurt.

Dollars to doughnuts - they didn't actually play the games. That seems to be the overwhelming trend. The more critical you are of retake, the less likely you are to have played the games.

I'm not sure about these particular comics, the second one i figured was mocking all the people calling us whiny and entitled.
I know for a fact that Whats her face did not like the ending.

Theres a few things before that, like the stages of ME3's ending reactions. Which are rather funny, but sadly accurate.

If you read those you'll see that they don't like the endings either. How they feel about retake, i am unsure.

Theres also the comment on the first one:
"Retake Mass Effect, and the people peripherally attached to it, seem to have a modus operandi of deifying journalists and publications that agree with their point, and demonizing those that don't. Whatever your feelings on the ending and some the pressure to change it, accusing people who don't share your opinion of either not understanding it or being corrupt is intellectually dishonest."
Point is, thats mostly true. While i don't agree that reviewers aren't corrupt(I'm looking at you, IGN), and some people have just ignored completely the ending as it stands saying "Mass Effect 3 was the ending" or other crap, they do usually come across as morons, because somehow, for them, it gave them full closure, which is ridiculous.
We deified people who agreed with us mainly because in the beginning, NO ONE DID, so when people like the forbes guys sided with us, it gave us hope.

Well, the one who made the second comic... They must have played FoM.

They CRITICALLY MISSED THE POINT!!

Of course, we are entitled whiners. Never mind the fact that gamers are customers,too. What's the point, anyway? When I ordered a Ferrari and they gave me a bicycle for the same price I was soooo happy! It is really beautiful watching how "false advertising" means "false advertising" in all the business sectors except for the videogame market. Here the PR never lies, and the publisher always think for our best, it's just that nobody understands how good and caring they are.

Well they gave me a chuckle but to be honest I didn't really even know the escapist made anything but zero punctuation, well anything good and even that is stale.

Hilarious, we are intellectually dishonest. Instead of throwing insults, I will just say that having a negative opinion does not make you an entitled whiner, it means that you have a mind that asks questions, why or what is this, what does it mean etc.

Apparently, asking intellectual questions and not accepting everything is a bad thing these times. I'd rather be a wolf than a sheep.

Pretty sure the second comic isn't a jab at Retake but a jab at people that would take monetary advantage of the situation.

Isn't there some saying about the joke not being very good if it has to be explained?

I would disagree as there is at the very beginning "If you support Retake Mass Effect, you are an entitled, crybaby, wuss" Seems pretty pinpoint to me.

It's worded that way because (especially at the time) Retakers were seen as being very...charitable with their money as well as being emotional. Thus, making them mad can be profitable.

So, while it is certainly possible it was a malicious jab, I don't think that was the point.

I actually lolled at the first one. >.>
