What do you think YOU (don't worry about other people) will do once the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut comes out and you have played it?

Now I hope that the Extended Cut will make things right with you and us. It will answer your questions, it will make you happy, it will create goodwill and all the happy things that I think both sides want. I also know that likely will not happen for 100% of everyone with concerns over the ending. We'll do the best we can, but some people may not like it no matter what it is.

Again, I cannot go into details about what the EC will or will not have, contacts, dates, etc, but I am wondering what you ME fans think will happen next. Please use the poll and feel free to answer in detail as well.

Assuming it works out well, I'll replay the SP multiple times as always, which is what I really want. I'll even buy SP DLC. My air card connection out here in the boonies won't let me play MP no matter what, so I can't do that.

I really appreciate you coming in here the way you do, Chris. It's good to see. I hope this thread goes well. Good luck.

It is all going to depend on how the EC turns out for me. If the EC dlc doesn't meet my expectations, then I am done with the series. If (and it is a big if for me) the EC manages to be good, then I will probably buy future single player dlc. (I'm not into multiplayer so I don't plan to spend money on that).

Agreed. I haven't tried multiplayer yet (it's just not my thing), but I love the ME universe / franchise & i am looking forward to the DLC, albeit cautiously. I am really excited to have more Mass Effect - the idea that the story is over is sad.

Have heard rumors of other storylines or MMO possibilities within the Mass Effect universe, which would be cool maybe? But I'm so invested in the Shepard storyline that it's where my main interest lies. I do hope there is more DLC release after the EC - i know the community was really excited around PAX at the possible rumors of an Omega DLC.

*sigh* How to properly convey my feeling about this poll and the content? I feel as though the way the poll is worded doesn't accurately describe my feeling about this issue. I cannot say how I will feel once the extended cut comes out. The phrase cautiously optimistic is how I feel about the whole situation. I look forward to seeing what the new release is going to look like, but I'm afraid that it isn't going to be what myself and the other fans are looking for. I am of course very disappointed and upset by the whole ending, if I wasn't I wouldn't be here. With that being said however, I refuse to let the ending to Mass Effect 3 ruin the series as a whole. I actually just stopped playing the first Mass Effect to respond to this poll. I still play the single player campaign in Mass Effect 3 and I still play multi-player, it is hard to say how I will feel once the extended cut comes out. I hope for the best, but as I said I refuse to have it ruin everything else that I love about the series. We the fans are doing all of this because we have enjoyed this series so much and want to see a better ending that lives up the storytelling of the rest of the series. I hope that I will like what the extended cut brings to the table, but how can I say how I will respond until I see it?

It needs a other option good sir. If EC goes well, then I'm probably going to get all of the SP DLC and some of the MP DLC (Depending on if other people get it). If it goes bad then well the final option is applicable.

Edit: As amal said It needs more options because there isn't one there that expresses how I truly feel thus I'm not voting on the poll but still will post.

Honestly, it has to depend entirely on how well the EC does. But if it is as good as I hope then I'll be playing through ME3 sp and mp alot to make up for lost time, and as can be seen in another thread there are plenty of good DLC ideas that I would love to see a reality and love to play.

I'm not done with bioware, not by a long shot, too much good stuff has come out of that company for one mistake to ruin it all. Especially if the EC is done right, suggesting bioware cares about us as much as we care about them..

I find myself sitting here trying to decide how to vote, because I simply cannot choose amongst the options you have given in the poll.

Whether the EC dlc ends up being what we asked for or not, I will continue to play the multiplayer simply because It is a fun time to be had with friends. I also could not say that I will never play the single player campaign again, simply because I do not know. I also cannot say that I am looking foward to dlc, especially at this point. It is too early to talk about dlc, when in my opinion the game was not finished properly.

bottom line, Gotta wait and see what happens. I am hopeful that with the release of the EC I will be overjoyed to spam playing the single player again, and eagerly await Single and Multiplayer DLC. Cautiously Optimistic as @Amalthea327 puts it. Hope for the best, expect the worst.

Without knowing how the EC will play out it's hard to answer. I have a hard time in my head justifying why I would want to revisit Shepard's story if the end result is still lackluster, confusing, and not keeping within the heroic themes of Shepard's journey. For example, I see no reason in Retaking Omega for Aria (since that strikes me as obvious DLC bait) if it will have no impact on the end of the end of the game. With Shepard dead there won't be any way to explore the Mass Effect universe post-Reaper invasion.

I suspect I'll play some multiplayer since for me it's been honestly a fun experience, but if the EC won't keep me invested in ME I'll probably just move on to other games. Luckily I've met some great some great people here on HTL and I'll continue to play with them in other games. That said I think multiplayer needs some serious updates and new modes/styles of play if it's going to continue to hold people's interest for much longer.

So TL;DR - If EC fails to hold me then I'll be done. I got burned once with Dragon Age 2, twice with Mass Effect 3 now, and I don't think I can hold out much more hope for BioWare.

CAVEAT: If there's DLC that lets me play a significant amount of time as Garrus you may sucker some money out of me. :D

    *Looks at @Volion*

    *Takes a very deep breath*

    Mr. Priestly

The Extended Cut will not create goodwill. It does not come exclusively from you. BioWare cannot create it. It is created through an interaction between both sides and which will lead to trust. There is no "magic bullet" here. I don't think a magic bullet is possible.

The Extended Cut will not solve the issues of the past, for me. It happened. It felt like I was talked down to by BioWare. It felt like all my concerns about the game were minimized by statements like "artistic integrity." Like what I wanted didn't matter. It happened. I was there for it. The Extended Cut will not make any of that go away. I wish it could. I was so excited when I heard about Mass Effect 3. I pre-ordered it without any hesitation. I wish the extended cut could take me back then...to the feeling of excitement before it all fell apart. Can it do that, Mr. Priestly? That would be nice. Can it make the idea of "artistic integrity" go away? Will it make the hundreds of playing hours that I personally spent sculpting the perfect story matter? Will it? Can you answer that at least?

I'll play it and keep an open mind. After that, I don't know.

Depends on if your EC DLC saves the day or not.
ATM i am in the apprehensive expectation and i am done with single player but i am having alot of, unexpected, fun on multi with friends.
If EC DLC is bad i'll just pass on anything ME related, including multi.
If EC DLC is good i'll keep playing multi and may give a try to DLCs or future games but only after player feedback is known.

I will hopefully be playing alot more singleplayer if the EC manages to make the ending bearable. Get around to using those six(?) imports. Multiplayer wasn't my thing. I play plenty of multiplayer games but Mass Effect just hasn't got the shooter mechanics or the gameplay part down just yet in my opinion. I play Mass Effect for the RPG elements and the kickass universe. Must commend the team for the massive improvement with ME3 though.

So, I'm trying to be optimistic even though I'm kind of expecting dissappointment. :cautious: I'd love to be proven wrong.
If EC succeeds to please me and my interests... BioWare wins back a few points for me. I might even check out how development on Dragon Age 3 is going (even though DA2 was such a letdown). If not, I think I'll spend my money elsewhere.

    -edit-

If the resolution is squared, I definitely see myself buying all DLCs available for ME3 (as I have for the past two games) and finally getting the last two ME items from the Bioware store that I've had my eye on. I don't do multiplayer so the ending has/will have no impact on this aspect for me.

Well depending on my own feelings with regards to the extended cut: I'll either love you even more or a hell of a lot less.
The Extended Cut won't impact my playing of mass effect 3 (or the rest of the trilogy) in the future as I'm sure that in a few months or maybe even a year from now, I'll start a fresh playthrough.

I can only hope the Extended Cut makes this a completely pleasurable experience that does justice to the rest of the trilogy as opposed to the way it stands at present.

As a die hard mass effect fan I will undoubtedly, albeit bitterly download future single player DLC (fingers crossed for Retake Omega!) but with multiplayer, while very enjoyable it will inevitably lose it's draw once I am done with the game and will only be used on future occasions to bump up my galactic readiness.

I have not voted in the poll because none of the above answers apply to me. I will more than likely play the campaign again and download future SP DLC, but will only use MP as and when is required. DLC for Multiplayer entirely depends on how much it costs in relation to the amount of fun I continue to get out of it. (though I've met some awesome people to play with as a result of this whole debacle).

I do not wish to criticise your poll, but the top option is very subjective because while it may indicate people will continue play and enjoy SP and MP, looking forward to DLC it does not specify exactly what DLC that may be.

I am sure I can speak for the majority of people here that we will take single player DLC over multiplayer any day and sincerely hope you do not try and milk everyone for as much money through map packs (a la COD) as possible.
