Eh, weird idea, market and not market fully but make the customer hunt it down...

I think the principle is this:

Market with a trimmed version of trailer
Offer Extended version for those who share
We (ubisoft) get 3x free exposure (their own trailers, plus those who share, tweet and link)
Dedicated consumers are rewarded with extended trailer
Consumers then encourage their friends to do the same.

It's clever, but a waste of time. the full trailer will surface after E3...

Meh, wrong way to "activate consumers"...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but EA is already doing that with The Secret World and the FB game The Secret War. In the Secret War you deploy your agents (ie your friends that you have to convince to play the FB game) in an attempt to keep areas of the planet under your faction's (Illuminati, Templar and Dragon) control.

Each week, a "War Objective" is given ("Control as many possible European Territories while maintaining control of your Home Territories", etc) and each day a winning faction is selected. And each victory opens a bit more of a teaser trailer for that faction. The one with more victories will get to see their teaser trailer first.

It's the end of the world as we know it...

Anyway, this won't give EA any bad ideas...they already have them or will come up with them by themselves...*sigh*
