Well, I don't wish to engage in a online argument about silly things, and Bree had some good points in her thread that she linked. Anyways, Bioware is going about this the wrong way and it's costing them.

    OMG and WTF
And again I'm in depression... (n) Bye, bye my "hura-hura" mood after turn on/off campaign.
    BioWare, why again?

Well look at this way. She just admitted that we are the majority and not the minority. That's something right?

But yeah the clarity and closure thing is utter tripe and could mean anything.

As nice a person as she is, and I do think she's sincere in her posting, she is, at the moment, doing a LOT more damage than helping by responding to tweets or messages like that *and* the way she responded.

The appropriate response should have been "Thanks for your feedback! We love hearing from you guys!" etc.

It seems more and more that *anyone* who works for or with Bioware is *so* detached from their fanbase it's getting to a breaking point where no matter what you do your reputation is sunk.

Two hours ago (from Turn on/ off FB page by Courtney Stansell)

Tweets between Jessica merizan and Zurgi:

Z: @JessicaMerizan your just using opinions, people who want change have facts. look at all the polls eveywhere, people want change

M: @ Zurgi It's not going to change. And not everyone wants the ending to be retconned and re-done despite some thinking that.

Z: @ JessicaMerizan its nice to know that a company that use to care for its fans just stops, lies, n slaps them bc of money.

M: @ Zurgi It's not being changed. You can accept that or not, but it's not changing.

Merizan (Retweet): A Jonas brother is getting a reality show on E!...it's official, the death of television has begun.

Z: @ crixlee @ JessicaMerizan But it will still have a better ending then Mass Effect 3

    M: @ Zurgi Blocked!

Z: @ JessicaMerizan why because i have an opinion? keep being blind, and dont see the real truth behind this

Or she could mean the majority of the minority. Who knows? At this level of being completely ambiguous, i wouldnt be surprised if she actualy had something to do with the ending. Or maybe its THE Bioware mindset nowadays, right there under 'Artistic Integrity'

I think the critical point was pax and that has long since past. I'm hanging around to see what they and if they fix it. The trust however, that's gone for good at this point. The EC DLC has to be the most amazing thing I've ever seen if they ever hope to gain my trust again.

That's about the crux of it. We have consistent data that people want change. They however don't seem to understand what the majority want.

They must be living in cloud coocooland to believe that the majority don't want this change.

I will give the extended DLC ending the benefit of the doubt, but my trust in Bioware is paper thin. I once viewed their logo as a seal of approval of great storytelling in games and money well spent, but no more. I`m genuinely feeling sad that this is how it all came down in the end.

As Jessica Holt said, there's probably not a whole lot that Jessica Merizen can do at this point. It's her job to manage PR, and she can only work with what BioWare has given her. She's in an extremely unenviable position at this point.

In fact, it's not clear how much BioWare can actually do. They may not have the option of creating a brand new ending; that might involve pulling designers and playtesters from other projects. There would also be the issue of voice actors, who all have their own schedule and may not be able to oblige spending more time on ME. I might be remembering incorrectly, but the ME2 DLC only featured considerable dialogue from a small number of characters, did it not?

I'm not trying to say that we're not right in wanting a new ending. The current ending is embarrassingly bad. But we need to manage our expectations. Maybe the easiest thing to do would be simply to have the game cut off at the Illusive Man's death. I had an idea in which the Star Child is simply cut out, and the "three options" are the result of hardware limitations in the Catalyst, combined with better explanations and reasoning behind he various effects. But I don't work in a game company, so I have no idea how easy or difficult this would be.

I'm giving the Extended Cut DLC a chance. Still, I can't say I have much faith in BioWare any longer. If the DLC is decent, I may buy more BioWare products. If not, I won't buy anything until a series is finished in its entirety, and the fan reaction is positive. I don't want to get burned like this again.

Honestly, that's what really has me depressed: the way we've been utterly dismissed by BioWare as some extreme minority who supposedly hate them. We've been doing all this because we are trying to point out some major flaws, and we've been brushed aside as though we were never loyal customers to begin with.

It would seem they view all dissent as disloyalty. A bad idea if ever I saw one.

Also it would seem their loyal customers are the largest target demographic. Not the ones who have supported it since me1.

I can see why Bioware is going the this route.
One, because it's easy and cheap.
Two, because so many people left so many long winded posts here and on BSN and elsewere asking "why" to almost every flaw in the game. Not enough simple posts demanding or asking for a New Ending. It gives Bioware/EA the excuse to say "We see all the WHY's and we are answering them". This is BS of course. But I'm willing to bet that is how they will explain it, and they'll have plenty of examples to prove the point.

I'm not trying to put anyone down for long posts. I'm just pointing out what I think they will do and say when we give them a bunch of crap for putting out a useless "clarifying and closure" type DLC.

We didnt give them the deadline of summer for the EC. Hell, we didnt give them the deadline for 3-6-12. They did that to themselves, and continue to do so. I would be the first to go wildly happy if they say we wont see the EC until Christmas, but it will have new endgame. But they seem to persist on the idea of clarifying what we hate in 2 months, so that we can hate it with more clarity for all time after that.

"I can see clearly now why the rage is here"? Yeah no they don't need clarification they need rewrites badly. They also need to be honest about it. Then the healing can begin.

Which is most likely what will happen. *Without* changing the concept of the endings, in a fundamental way, EC is pointless, and it may do more harm than good.

You can't square bad or rushed writing, or poorly thought out illogical concepts, or broken narrative with additional content of the same. I don't know why that isn't understandable to PR folks (arguing for a more neutral stance in their wording), but it's as simple as you can make it.

They've already cost themselves my business. ME3 and the way they handed this whole mess has been like a slap in the face, and I've decided I'm not buying any more games that come with an online pass or day one DLC.
