#FightLikeHell #KaidansWaiting

So, the Kaidan fangirls(and guys) are taking a page from the #FindMiranda folk and creating some art in order to send to BioWare. However, it won't be completely similar. Here's the idea provided by @Clarissant. It's an absolutely lovely idea and it's a great way to personalize it to our specific Shepards.

A little background...whenever I see Shenko artwork & stuff it's cool and all but it's not my Shep and I think it's really great to feature everyone's unique FemShep in initiatives.

So I was thinking about how we could combine that with the #KaidansWaiting initiative and I came up with the idea of creating a sort of "register of the missing". Basically a sort of binder with 8.5x11 "Missing in Action" mini-posters of as many individual FemShep's as we can get. To get the Shenko point across we could maybe put something like "If you have any information please contact Major Kaidan Alenko of The Systems Alliance". The cover could feature Kaidan sort of searching for her with the hash tags and such.

*Adding what I believe is the final product of what the MIA posters are going to look like. Woot.

---> And here's the follow-up with more detail:

- Someone who is good with Photoshop would make the general look of the poster, let's call it the frame. (I'm not that good at Photoshop but I can make a sort of mock up to show what I have in mind and let the creative team run with it).
- We each take a screenshot of our Shep and send them to the person who made the frame and they just have to be inserted in.
- I have 2 ideas for the screenshot part:

1. We all take it from the character creation or squad screen so they look as similar as possible, would be like Kaidan took the image from her Alliance personnel file or something.

2. We all take a screen of her face from a random scene we really like, say one where she's smiling or something, so it seems like Kaidan used a picture of her that he had with him and loved.

- We can put Lil One's poster in somewhere (inside cover art?).
- If you have more than one Shep and want to include them all go for it since that will make us look more numerous.
- I say we design a separate cover for the binder:

1. Maybe something to make the binder look like an official Alliance list of the missing.

2. We stick with an image of just Kaidan looking sad and maybe searching for her.

- We could maybe put #KaidansWaiting and #FightLikeHell on the spine of the binder/book.
- Once we've got all the posters they can be e-mailed to me, I'll take them to the printer so they are high quality and either have the printer make them into a book or assemble them into a binder myself then mail it to BioWare.

Now we have gotten a great cover for this binder created and an insert as well. And we have thrown our support behind #FindMiranda. On the day we send this out, we will tweet about it--we will use our hashtag #KaidansWaiting, and they will use theirs, #FindMiranda, however we will also use one that's similar, such as #Fightforthelove, or #FightforOurLI--we still haven't reached a consensus on that. If you have any additional thoughts on this, please feel free to comment and let us know if you're interested in participating and @Clarissant can give you her email to send your Shepard screenshots too.

---> So the original thinking was to have this cut-off on May 27th. However, it seems that there are a few more open pages and more Shepards can be taken. So if you're interested, please contribute your Shepard or your Shep code to Clarissant or Lil One. Also, if you know someone or if you want to contribute Kaidan art, by all means we'd love to have it.

The book is done!!!

So screw Photobucket...it's stopped cooperating for me to upload the posters. I'm putting them in my Dropbox but it's estimating 5 hours to upload them all so I'll post the link tomorrow morning.

Nhaneh I used some of your renders like we talked about, hope you're ok with the ones I chose (please please please don't make me go through your Tumblr again, I'm all out of tissues )

- EDIT- The final count was 56 Sheps. Lil One I had to leave out the hash tags poster you made. I'm sooooory but hey your art is still on the cover!! I put the Sheps of those who helped me with this the most in first. All the other Sheps got put through a randomizing program to determine the order they went in the book in.

So you see the cost is $192.70 and she ended up with about $50 left to donate to charity. She tweeted at Raphael Sbarge on suggestions for charities he supports to donate to.

For the second one, if you haven't got a good picture, are not on PC or such, I offer to take a screen cap -- let me know facial code and if you want squad screen or in-game and I will do so.

Anyone else willing to help with this on a PC are of course more than welcome. Let us help those who need it.

Awesome. We're glad to have anyone that wants to participate, the bigger the better. But I'll let @Clarissant put her email in here so you can send your screenshots to her. I don't want to be so bold as to do it for her.

Could someone fill me in on #FindMiranda? I've been in the middle of moving so I'm a bit behind on the news here. But I want to participate as much as I can in everything! I hope to organize my own initiative, too, at some point.

I just have one request for this--I see a lot of people who tweet their art to Bioware or Mass Effect. I ask that we not do this with these posters. I'm hoping that we can kind of keep them under wraps and they'll be new and shiny to BioWare.

@Clarissant, you're awesome -- but please, if this starts to get costly, let us know. Doesn't seem right for someone to pay for all these prints out of their own pocket. I'll probably send my face codes 'cause I don't have the screen capture hardware and I was just going to take pictures w/ my phone but I'm afraid the quality would be bad.

Thanks and don't worry, after the amount I blew at Comiccon this weekend I'll definitely open a chip in if it's costly. Oh and ya if you have a console without a capture device then either pop your face code in the demo or send me it because we don't wanna use low quality pics.

Absolutely. I sent them to @Lil One and asked her to send them to me and then I'll send them on to you. I feel weird for not having the capture hardware but I didn't even know it existed until recently. Wow, I'm old...this sucks. Hmph.

Found a place that will make a hardcover, full page 8x11" photo book and allows for custom cover art work! 20 pages for: $43.99 CDN (additional 8 pages available for an extra $10.32 CDN).

Neat. I wonder how many pages there will be, however. I think we should give people a week from tomorrow to next Monday to get their Shepards to you and then let the creation begin.

Heh, no worries, I found it curious too. I can always change it too if you want, my original image still has all layers (as opposed to the PDF where I made three, ready to paste in the Shep).

Heh, standard to you, perhaps, here A4 is standard. Hence me asking.

Since it seems it will either be 8.5 x 11 or 8 x 11 I made both (images in first post are made to 8 x 11, 8.5 x 11 is cropped a little in height).

Got an idea for hash-tag poster, working on to put in the default Shep's there... Might be less personal (except for those who use default Shep, of course) than sporting Lola.
