Datamining the Trilogy (AKA Things That Were Cut)

So we did have Emily Wong and they subbed her for Chobot/Allers at some point between November and March!? And then killed Emily Wong on twitter. I don't even know what to say. I didn't think Bioware/ME3 still had the power to keep kicking me in the balls this far on. I was wrong. That is just very disappointing. So very, very disappointing.

Someone needs to spread this to everywhere imaginable. EAWare needs to see that what they did was wrong and hurt the game. It's unlikely that they'll change anything, or if they do it'll be paid DLC, but that doesn't matter, because rereading the leaked script makes me realize that I would have gave everything I have to play this game over the Mass Effect 3 that we have now.

I seem to recall hearing this in game. Maybe it's Fem!Shep only?

The Emily Wong bit is just bad. All game I was wishing I could toss Allers out the nearest airlock, and to think I actually could have killed her off?

Consider the fact that this was unavoidable, that Diana Allers died no matter what because it was in a news report.

Also, I doubt that we would have hated Allers if she was in this capacity, nor do I think we would even care who she is, as the only mention of her would be that she died.

@Noelmahc: Is there anything in the script regarding Kal'Reeger, Jona's dad, or Morinth that you've come across yet? If they hadn't planned to kill off Emily Wong, it's inconceivable that they would do the same thing to Kal'Reeger or Morinth, but I'm curious as to whether Jona's dad's death was handled differently.

Read the table of contents in the OP. Kal'Reegar does a mission with you on Rannoch in the same way as Grunt does - you're running team 2 next to his team 1 to do a Big Important Thing. Jona's dad dies in this version too, with pretty much the same lines, and no mention of Morinth AT ALL thus far. Sorry.

I hereby vote that we perfect the procedure they used in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and effectively undo the part where we all bought the broken version of ME3.

I will second that motion. I.e. when Noel is finished unpacking and examining everything we can piece together the Mass Effect 3 that should have been.

As I said numerous times, all of thr above is from the "we may or may not use this" script. The "this is probably going into the final game" script has Allers as we got her. I will be handling that file last intentionally as everyone and their monkey's uncle has read at least quotes from it when it was originally leaked (it was the only one of the three actually being quoted).

It's hard to believe that all that was cut from the game could've made the game a little bit better...

And nope. Up until a certain point, Sharon Allers was the character that became Samantha Traynor. Up until a later point, after Traynor became what she is, Diana Allers was merely a name in an obituary about a Reaper attack on an Alliance fleet read by Emily Wong. And only THEN Diana and Emily switched places.

Yeah, Diana Allers. I just meant that in the version I'm cutting up are traces that she wasn't even supposed to be anytning more than a name in a news item.
