A tune I made... "Journey's end - a new beginning"

Posted it elsewhere but perhaps this is where it belongs...

This one is just something I threw together the other day. Base loop has been haunting me for a few weeks, but that day it all came together.

I call it "Journey's end - a new beginning" just because I liked it. Imagine, if you will, post-ending (Star Jar or not) scenes showing rebuilding, intermingled with flashbacks to deaths of beloved characters in hopefully obvious spots. Victory, but at what cost? Not a Dark Age victory, only, ahem, bittersweet...

Note: It is intentionally repetitive as it was created as backdrop music to the above. I have not yet made a video for it -- if anyone would want to help with that, let me know.

    MP3 file @ 5 MiB and 192 kbps (i.e., "lo fidelity") here.

    P.S.
Yep, leaving Earth is partly to blame for this one, but I took it and ran with it (but no scissors). :p

This is really nice Lil One. It feels sad and subdued I assume that's what you were aiming for.

Thanks all, and yes, sad and subdued is what I hoped for, and aimed for. :)

I would make the video if I didn't think a) it would take me months to be happy with it and b) someone here can do it so much better any way.

Wow, I like FFVII (the only one I managed to play through, to be honest), so thank you. :D

Especially I enjoy Cosmo Canyon theme... Now there's emotion (and build up and let down easy and...). By comparison this one is, intentionally, very "even".

Very nice. Very Final Fantasy, though it sounds more V for me than VII.

Wow! That's really good! I love the rolling thumps/low notes in the background and the deep sound of the tuba (it is a tuba right? maybe bass/contrabass sax?), and the melody and piano are beautiful. I think you've definitely captured the "calm after the storm" feel with it. And the three bass drum hits that repeat every once in a while are spot on I think.
But I can't, for the life of me, figure out what the instrument playing the solo from 0:54 is. Is it a soprano sax through a modulator?
Also, do you happen to have an extended version of it? It cuts off kind of suddenly, seems like the music didn't quite get to its destination.

Thank you for the praise. :X3: That is a muted trumpet you hear there at 0:54.

No extended version, I fear, but I suppose I can rework the ending...

Heh, no video -- yet. But I might be able to piece one together now with the EC bits... Will see, suffering too much from summer heat (I cannot function in it at all).

A mute... now it makes sense.

Nevermind, it turns out that the file didn't download right and there were about 2 seconds missing, not including the silence (about 1.5 bars if my count is right).
