What's Up In Gaming? 7/26/12

This isn’t about gaming, but it’s a very happy note to end the week on. After the shooting at a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises, people were a very shaken about the mayhem and death that occurred. Those who survived the traumatic experience didn’t get to see the movie, but they got to meet Christian Bale- Batman himself! Bale came with his wife on his own accord (not representing Warner Bros.) and spent a few hours meeting and chatting with victims recovering from their injuries. Although their bodies are in pain, their hearts are surely filled with joy.

Is Playstation Vita too hot for you? Apparently, that’s the case as customers are having trouble since their handhelds are overheating. The National Institute of Technology and Evaluation is investigating the matter of about 23 Vita’s frying in Japan due to a short circuit on the multi-use port on the PS Vita itself. Sony believes that this issue is caused by customers having liquids or other object near the device. Blame game aside, this hopefully won’t turn into a big issue with the holiday season only a few months away.

Those feeling nostalgic will get a blast from the past soon. Toejam and Earl will be returning as an Xbox Live download. Back from the dead, gamers will be able to relive their favorite moments from the first and second game (Toejam and Earl in Panic on Funkotron). Keep your eyes open for that!
