The Hive mind echoed within his skull. Thier voices irritated him and he was unaccustomed to being anyone's thrall. At the moment a nice terran wiskey or burbon would have been a godsend. His eyes watered over as his captures played at being Demigods. Only his innermost thoughts were truely his. They werent telepathic by any means. Thank god for small favors. Even if I die in the end I will make sure Humanity survives.
He resists us...how amusing! Pathetic creature of bone and flesh your feeble attempts at warning your speices will fail. Even the Old Cycle relic and thier allies wont be able to help you now. That civilization has gone to dust by mercy of our passing. You are our children who have strayed from the path of enlightenment. The Reapers were ours to command. They would have uplifted you. Even those pathetic Leviathians lost thier own history. They never held any leash that we didnt allow.
Jack Harper had fought many different battles in his life and allowing these monsters, in thier arrogance, to destroy humanity and everything he had sacrificed wasnt just blasphemous, it was downright diabolical, and even if he was only remembered as a terrorist at least people would realize just how much he sacrificed in the end. He grinned and mustered some mental coherence. Blood started to drip slightly down his nose as he smiled knowingly into the darked room. Nails bit into his flesh as he shouted his defiance.
"The rest of the galaxy will burn but Humanity will survive even if we have to step upon the ashes of trillions to do it. Why the Reapers existed never concerned me....not even thier purpose is useful now....by killing you Humanity will dominate everything and I will be there to watch your "Eyeless Horde" torn asunder. Shepard always was a useful tool even if she hates me for it. A double edged sword indeed but one I am familar with."
We shall see pretender....we shall see.....
Liara was dozing rather happily when a blast of images torn through her mind like a hurricane. Shepard, who only moments before deeply asleep in thier bed, began to thrash about. Her body seized up as the visions began to replay in her mind. Unlike the destress beacon from the prothean's this vision contained pictures and places completely alien to this galaxy. Both women could see planet wide cityscapes and various speices of all types flashing before thier eyes. Even more disconcerting was the other data bleeding through the bond.
Too weak for further testing...wont survive space....primative wait for more development before testing against other control options....various social strata reveals promise...possible study required for further developement....abbohrent traits....despose of speices XX1a immediately....irreleavent....
The voices sounded cold and calculating. Like the whole of existance was just a science experiement for thier amusement and nothing more. Suddenly Shepard's eyes flew open and she screamed sliently. Her biotics flared and sent various items crashing to the floor.
Hannah and Thomas rushed in and helped Liara while thier daughter began to speak, the language was unfamiliar at first but then Hannah cocked her head to one side and she began to frown.....were had she heard this before? Then Shepard groaned and sat up. "What the hell?" Her eyes were still swimming with confusion and her look changed to one of alarm as she saw what happened to the room. "Oh god..." Liara gently grabbed her bondmate's chin and held her gaze. "No one was hurt....do you remember anything?"
