Aashe's Weapons

Since there's been some chatter about weaponry, I thought I'd take a moment to figure out which weapons Aashe would carry.

Pistol: PS-22 Shadow
As Mass Effect goes to all the trouble to call the pistols in the game "Heavy Pistols" I have to believe there are Light Pistols as well. Aashe would carry a Light Pistol instead of a Heavy one.

Fire Mode: Semi-Automatic
Ammo: 12 round clip, 6 clips can be comfortably carried on the person.
Damage: Light - low caliber rounds.
Recoil: Very low. Easily able to be fired rapidly, with decent precision.

The Rounds are able to pierce through light armor, and some medium armor, depending on range and accuracy. Against heavy armor - even at point blank range, the PS-22 Shadow would hurt, and might even knock the wind out of someone - but it wouldn't actually break through. There might be some accounts of Aashe sticking this weapon in the chest of someone who's threatening her, knowing full well it won't kill them - giving her a chance to find an escape route, without actually having to kill her enemy. Leaves a hell of a bruise though. This weapon would share appearances with the M-3 Predator - but be much smaller. Aashe wears hers on a custom holster on her thigh.

When it comes to this weapon, Aashe uses it mostly to just fire rounds and startle someone into cover. She's not someone who enjoys killing (though she does understand the necessity for it). She chose a weapon that would allow her to run and shoot at the same time without too many issues, and a weapon that could kill (if it needed to) but most likely wouldn't be able to kill a target on accident.

Sniper Rifle: M-29 Incisor
Manufacturer: Unknown
Fire Mode: 3 Round Burst
Ammo: 15 rounds per clip, 2 clips can be comfortably carried on the person.
Damage: Medium - rounds meant to drop shields and get through armor.
Recoil: Moderate - it is possible to miss on the third shot - despite what the advertisements say.

The Incisor is one of a new wave of military and police sniper rifles designed to overload active defenses such as shields. Firing three shots with each pull of the trigger, the Incisor's burst is so fast that all three rounds will be in the target by the time the barrel has moved a millimeter, increasing its stopping power without sacrificing accuracy. As an added benefit, the noise of the burst is comparable to a single rifle shot in duration, making it no easier to locate the sniper by sound.

Again with the idea that Aashe is not fond of killing, the Sniper Rifle is mostly a scare tactic. At long range, she can knock down a set of Kinetic Shields, or Biotic Barriers without too much hassle, and scare someone into thinking they're threatened. Aashe is a good shot, often choosing to shoot Barriers at a location that is easily visible to the target, IE: right in front of their eyes - opting for maximum effect. If she should get into combat with others - she'd be more likely to drop back and provide cover fire, to allow her allies an easier run of the field.

Knife: The Shark Tooth
Not one for the Omni-Blade - Aashe has taken to carrying a real knife in her boot. She prefers the simplicity of having an actual knife blade on her person, in the event that an emergency situation should arise, and her Omni-Tool is on the fritz. The Shark Tooth was made by Devlon Industries - a survival gear company that favors some military applications, but a good amount of hunting applications as well. It's a standard knife with a serrated bottom edge, and sharp top blade that curves to a point. The blade folds into the handle, and can be easily unfolded with either just her hands, or with her teeth. She's pulled out the safety locks on the knife, which doesn't effect it's ability to stay closed, but makes it a hell of a lot easier to open and close.

Aashe would rarely use this knife as a weapon. Mostly she uses it to cut wires, or as an impromptu screwdriver/pry bar/ lock pick, etc. The holder she has for it sits on the top edge of her boot, so she can reach it with ease whenever she needs it. When she's thinking, she might pull the knife out and open and close it repeatedly - which will cause it to make a clicking noise, not unlike clicking a pen out of nervous tension.
